Where I build
Websites for small businesses in Durban
A city where your customers do not all read the same language, and a website can.
Durban businesses serve a mix of customers that most of the country does not: English, isiZulu and Afrikaans speakers, often in the same week. A website in one language is doing part of the job.
It is also a city of trade — wholesalers, importers, suppliers, anybody moving goods through the port. Those businesses sell to other businesses, and their websites need specifications, minimums and lead times rather than photographs of smiling people.
What a website here tends to need
- More than one language, if that is who your customers are. The whole website, not a translated home page
- For a trade supplier: what you make or move, your minimums, and your lead times
- The areas you deliver to, and what it costs to get there
- A WhatsApp button, because in this market it is the phone call

Where I am
I am in Pretoria. Everything happens on WhatsApp and the phone, and it has never made a difference to a build.
