Who I build for
Websites for guest houses and B&Bs
A lot of your guests found you on a booking portal. Your own site is where some of those bookings come direct, and you keep the commission.
A guest house website is rarely where somebody first finds you. They find you on a portal, and then many of them google your name before booking, to see what you look like and whether you’re real.
That second look is what your site is for. If it’s better than the portal listing, some of those bookings come direct and you keep the commission. That’s the whole business case, and a handful of direct bookings a year covers what the site cost.
What your website needs
- Each room shown properly, with enough photos to decide from — not one photo per room
- What’s included: breakfast, parking, wifi, whether the gate is manned
- Rates, and that they change by season, because December and June are not the same price
- How to book direct, made easier than going back to the portal
- Directions and what’s nearby — people are arriving somewhere they’ve never been, usually after dark
