Websites for electricians
A lot of the people looking for you need a compliance certificate, and they need to know you can issue one.
An electrician’s website carries something most trades don’t. A good share of them aren’t in an emergency at all. They’re selling a house, the sale is waiting, and they need a Certificate of Compliance from somebody registered to issue one. If your site doesn’t say plainly that you can, they carry on scrolling.
The rest is what anyone wants before they call you out: where you work, what you charge to arrive, and whether you answer after hours. And since load shedding, a lot of electricians do solar and inverter work — which is a different job entirely. It’s bigger, it takes longer, and the customer asks far more before committing.
What your website needs
- Whether you can issue a Certificate of Compliance, said in those words, near the top
- Your registration number, so somebody trusts you to issue the certificate
- The areas you cover, named
- Your callout fee, and whether you work after hours
- Solar and inverter work kept separate from repairs — it’s a different customer asking different questions
